The Studio

Based in Inverness, we work all across Scotland.

We believe in keeping things simple, but understand that this sometimes takes a bit of effort. We enjoy finding the solutions to intricate problems, often taking inspiration from our surroundings.

We look to create beautiful buildings through a reasoned and creative approach to design, taking into account fresh air, sunlight and good views whenever possible.

We will always look to use natural and practical materials alongside local craftsmanship to create functional, modern living spaces and believe that careful consideration of material, method and purpose leads to well-made, thoughtful buildings.

Conscious

Understanding the environmental impact of our work is central to our design approach. We believe in the sensitive use of materials and processes, and consider our practice to be elevated when working with locally sourced, natural materials.

Connected

We adopt a rational approach to form and material, connecting to our surroundings by making the most of natural light and views, linking people and home to place.

Collaborative

Sharing knowledge and experience is an essential part of our process. We are consistently seeking the perspectives and expertise of others to enrich our work. Whether it be from partners within the industry or our clients - collaboration is key.

Curious

We are continually asking questions, pushing ideas and exploring opportunities. We’ll only settle on the final solution, once all others have been tested.
